The Houston Texans and wide receiver Nico Collins have agreed to a three-year $72.75 million contract extension with a max value of $75 million according to Adam Schefter. This contract extension will keep Collins in Houston for the foreseeable future. Collins is a lengthy receiver standing at 6'4.

Texans' quarterback C.J. Stroud is probably really happy with this news given his powerful connection with Collins in the pass game. Last season, Collins racked up a very impressive regular season PFF grade of 91.0. To earn that high rating, Collins had 80 receptions, 1,297 receiving yards, and 8 receiving touchdowns. To say that having a reliable wide receiver is helping Stroud's development, is a bit of an understatement at this point given how helpful this role has been to the young quarterback thus far.

Before joining Houston, Collins played college football at the University of Michigan from 2016 to 2020. In the 2021 NFL Draft, Houston drafted Collins in the 3rd round with the 89th overall pick. Houston really found a diamond in the rough when they drafted Collins late in the 3rd round. It will be exciting to see the Stroud-Collins connection get stronger with time.
