Since Oklahoma and Texas announced their intentions to leave the Big 12, the Big 12 has experienced significant changes in the form of a new conference commissioner and new member institutions joining the conference. The Big 12 hired Yormark as their conference commissioner. Yormark has done a wonderful job navigating college football realignment. Some would say he saved the Big 12.

Since the Oklahoma-Texas departure announcement, the Big 12 has currently already added Brigham Young University, University of Central Florida, University of Cincinnati, and the University of Houston. This upcoming season, the Big 12 will also add the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, University of Colorado, and University of Utah. The Yormark-led Big 12 has survived this round of conference realignment and does not seem to be going away anytime soon.
