San Francisco 49ers Trade for Star Running Back Christian McCaffrey
As per NFL.com, the San Francisco 49ers have traded their 2023 second-round pick, 2023 third-round pick, 2023 fourth-round pick, and 2024 fifth-round pick to the Carolina Panthers for star running back Christian McCaffrey.
This is a massive move for the San Francisco 49ers. Granted, the 49ers did trade extensive draft capital for McCaffrey, McCaffrey in my opinion is one of the most underrated running backs in the league due to circumstance. The Carolina Panthers were never a competitive NFL team during McCaffrey’s tenure with the Panthers, but now that will change with Kyle Shanahan’s notoriously running back friendly offense.
McCaffrey was a living highlight reel at Stanford and as a football fan I look forward to him reaching that level of domination at the professional level with an actually competitive NFL squad.
