The BBC's Vanessa Buschschlüter is reporting that Colombia's Congress has passed a bill to ban bullfighting in Colombia by 2027. In recent times, bullfighting has begun to fall out of public favor as animal activists around the world have protested these practices. Protests have been held by animal activists in South America and Europe to end the practice.

The BBC is further reporting that the bill is expected to be signed into law by Colombia's president, Gustavo Petro. If signed into law, this new law will mark a big win for animal activists.
