Texas A&M’s Firing of HC Jimbo Fisher Makes U.S. College Football History

Texas A&M University fired head coach Jimbo Fisher last week following a win. Fisher has been the head football coach at Texas A&M since 2018. He held the position from 2018 till this season’s mid-season dismissal.

Before coaching at Texas A&M, Fisher won a national championship at Florida State University in 2013. Texas A&M’s termination of Fisher made college football history as the biggest college football head coach buyout in history amounting to approximately $77 million. Texas A&M has now began looking for Fisher’s replacement.
