Cavaliers Hire Kenny Atkinson as New Head Coach
The Cleveland Cavaliers have hired Kenny Atkinson as their new head coach according to Shams Charania. Before taking this job, Atkinson was an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors. Atkinson and the Cavaliers have agreed to a five-year contract.

This is not Atkinson's first head coaching job. Before accepting this position with the Cavaliers, Atkinson was head coach of the Brooklyn Nets from 2016 to 2020. Since then, he has taken on assistant coaching roles with the Los Angeles Clippers and the Warriors. In 2022, Atkinson won an NBA championship with the Warriors.
