New Orleans Saints Sign 3-Time Pro Bowl Defensive End Jason Pierre-Paul

On November 14th, NFL reporter Josina Anderson reported that three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul told her that he was “planning to sign with the Saints.” On November 16th, the New Orleans Saints made it official with the league office by signing the veteran defensive end to their practice squad.

Pierre-Paul has been a significant contributor since joining the National Football League. During his time with the New York Giants from 2010-2017, he recorded 58.5 sacks over eight seasons while also winning a Super Bowl and being named to two Pro Bowls along the way. Pierre-Paul then played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for four seasons from 2018-2021 where he recorded 33 sacks while also winning another Super Bowl and being named to one more Pro Bowl. Last season, Pierre-Paul amassed 3 sacks while playing in fourteen games for the Baltimore Ravens.

At age 34, Pierre-Paul is clearly on the latter half of his career, but he could likely help the struggling New Orleans Saints if he can avoid injury and is given the opportunity.
