Oregon Football's HC Dan Lanning Publicly Denies Interest in Texas A&M HC Vacancy

Texas A&M University fired head coach Jimbo Fisher last week. Fisher had been the head football coach at Texas A&M since 2018. Following Fisher’s mid-season firing, Texas A&M promptly began its search to find its next head coach. One of the most talked about coaches that has been eyed as a replacement for Fisher has been University of Oregon’s head coach Dan Lanning. Before taking over as head coach for the Oregon Ducks, Lanning was the outside linebackers coach and defensive coordinator for the national champion University of Georgia Bulldogs

In response to speculation that he may replace Fisher at Texas A&M, Lanning stated that he is a not a potential candidate for the position. Effectively, publicly denying any interest in the Texas A&M head coach position. We will stay tuned as Texas A&M continues its search.
